John and Samuel McDaniel were brothers. Their parents are unknown to me at this time.

  1. JOHN MCDANIEL d. 1838, Will probated 19 sept, 1840, Meigs Co, TN. His Will was written 2 April, 1838. John was a farmer. Said to be full blood Cherokee (apparently by adoption) He lived with his son, Samuel until his death at old age.

    1. ELLEN/ELEANOR MCDANIEL, She married RICHARD TAYLOR, son of DR. TAYLOR and MARY HARTGROVE. He was born Abt. 1831.Check this info!!
    2. SAMUEL MCDANIEL d. Abt. 1849, Meigs Co, TN. He married (1) RACHAEL B. COX December 02, 1820 in Rhea Co, TN. He married (2) ANNEY CLARK February 25, 1840 in Meigs Co, TN. She was born 1805.
    3. PATSY MCDANIEL. The Will of John McDaniel, states Patsy to be maintained for the rest of her life.
    4. TEMPERANCE MCDANIEL, b. Bet. 1790 - 1795; d. Bef. 1832, Rhea Co, TN. She married THOMAS COX December 20, 1815 in Rhea Co, TN, son of EDWARD COX and SARAH MEREDITH. He was born May 11, 1787 in Sullivan Co, TN, and died December 03, 1832 in Rhea Co, TN.
    5. JAMES M. MCDANIEL, b. Abt. 1803; d. Killed by Indians; m. MARGARET COX.

  2. SAMUEL MCDANIEL married TEMPERANCE UNKNOWN. Samuel was in the Rev. War for five-seven years was wounded and discharged. Had a brother named John. Lots of records in Rhea and Meigs Co. records about John and Samuel. Samuel McDaniel was a tanner of leather and shoemaker. He lived in Meigs Co. at Cottonport. while it was still part of Rhea and McMinn and then Meigs in 1836. There is a record, #264 in Meigs Co. records 1836-1881 of undivided interest in land.

    Children of SAMUEL MCDANIEL and TEMPERANCE are:

    1. MARGARET "TEMPERANCE" (Tempy) MCDANIEL, m. AMOS KING b. 1810 TN, December 27, 1827, Rhea Co, TN. She is listed as Margaret in some records.Thomas Cox is the JP who married them. Temperance and Amos King are the Great, great Grandparents of Leroy Walker b ca 1911.(He was 85 years of age when I was in contact with him in 1996)
      Children of Temperance McDaniel and Amos King are:
      1. Samuel Shelton King b, Nov. 1828
      2. Thomas Ruphus King b. October 17,1831, moved to Scott, Co. Ark. before the Civil War.
      3. Luke McCamy King b. Aug.24,1833

      Info from Leroy Walker in 1996: He states that If there were any other children, he has no record of them. He always understood that Thomas went to Arkansas after the Civil War. That was interesting that he may have gone to visit his McDaniels and married there.
