    I Randolph McDonald, of the County of Pittsylvania and State of Virginia, being in good health and perfect mind and memory doth make and constitute this my last will & testament.

    In the first place my desire is that all my just debts be paid by my Excecutors herein after named out of such part of my estate as may be deemed most beneficial by them.

    In the second place, I give unto my beloved wife, Sally McDonald the use and entire benefit of all the remaining part of my estate after my debts are all paid during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or at the expiration of her widowhood the whole of said estate real, personal and perishable to be sold or and devided as may be deemed most beneficial by my Executors herein after named, and the proceeds arising from such sale or division, to be equally divided amongst all my children herein after named not taking into the estimate of my estate anything that I have given off to my daughters Jane Lyons, formally Jane McDonald & Saritia Taylor, formerly Saritia McDonald, as I do not design for it to be put in the calculation of my said estate the names of my children are as follows namely: Nathan McDonald, Jane Lyons, formerly Jane McDonald, Cloe Gaulding, formerly Cloe McDonald, Hyram McDonald, Jeremiah McDonald, Isabell Gaulding, formerly Isabell McDonald, Moses McDonald, Zilphia McDonald, Elizabeth Taylor, formerly Elizabeth McDonald, Polley McDonald, Saritia Taylor, formerly, Saritia McDonald and Aaron McDonald.

    I do hereby appoint my sons Nathan McDonald & Hyram McDonald Executors to this my last will and testament. And lastly I do hereby revoke make null and void all and every other will or wills which hereafter appear in my name, declaring this to be my true and only will.

    In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the sixth day of June, in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred and thirty.

    At court of quarterly sessions held for Pittsylvania County the 18th day of June 1832. The within last will and testament of Randolph McDonald, deceased was prescribed in court and proved by the oaths of Samuel Hampton, Thomas Murphy and Cornelius Merritt, three of the subscribing witnesses and by the court ordered to be recorded. And at another day to-wit, at the said court continued and held on the 19th day of the month aforesaid the said will was agin presented in court and the Executors therein named refusing to take upon themselves the burden and execution thereof, on the motion of Benjamin Watkins who made oath thereto according to law and together with Thomas S. Jones and John Ward his securities entered into and acknowledged bond in the penalty of fifteen thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs. Certificate was granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of the said Randolph McDonald with his said will annexed in due form.

    Pittsylvania County Will Book 30, page 205: This indenture made and entered into the 12th day of July in the year 1828 by
    and between Ann McDonald widow of Absolom McDonald, dec'd, Polly Dodson, formerly Polly McDonald and her husband
    George Dodson, Nancy McDonald, who intermarried with Aron McDonald and her said husband Aron McDonald, Zilly
    McDonald & James McDonald, heirs of Absolom McDonald, dec'd of the county of Pittyslvania & State of Virginia of the
    one part and Absolom McDonald of said county of the other part & also a legatee of the said Absolom McDonald dec'd. ----

    LETTERS OF ADMINSTRATION

    The undersigned has taken out letters of administration upon all and singular the goods, chattles, rights, credits, moneys and effects, which were of DANIEL McDONALD, late of Orange County, Indiana. All persons indebted to said estate will please make immediate payment; and those having claims against the same will present them for settlement. The estate is probably insolvent.
