The dates work out right for him to have owned this land. I know he had a lot of properties when he died. I don’t have a death date, maybe sometime between 1939-1941. My grandpa would have been 4-6 years old. He has a wonderful memory though. He had red hair and a beard. Had a sister or sister-in-law named Dora May. Grandpa thought he was with a lady named Molly, definately part Indian, maybe a step-mother. Buried around Glendale, Litchfield Park or Goodyear. My Grandpa had a cousin Buddy Pewitt bd. abt. 1925. Jesse and his son John Patrick (age 11-14) helped build the capital building in Pheonix 1912-191 6. John Patrick inherited land from his father Jesse near Litchfield, Arizona. Later sold to the Air Force Base. When the Depression hit John Patrick sold a lot of land to other family members. John Patrick bd.5-9-1901 Safford, Cocheez County, Arizona dd.2-1978 Arizona.
Sorry, I hope this helps some. I found another person that was researching Hardcastles and they are the ones that told me Dora Hardcastle married Jesse. I don't have it confirmed. My grandpa was sure that was a sister or sister-in-law though.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you. Nicole Mencer
